The New Zealand Electronic Travel Authority (NZeTA) is a digital travel authorization required for eligible visa waiver travellers and certain transit or cruise passengers travelling to New Zealand.
Introduced by the New Zealand Government, the NZeTA is electronically linked to your passport and must be approved before travel.
With an approved NZeTA, eligible travellers may:
-
Visit New Zealand for tourism or holidays
-
Visit family or friends
-
Attend permitted short-term business activities such as meetings or conferences
-
Transit through New Zealand, where permitted
-
Travel to New Zealand multiple times during the validity period
Most travellers may stay in New Zealand for up to 3 months per visit, while British citizens travelling on British passports may generally stay for up to 6 months per visit, subject to entry approval.
The NZeTA does not permit employment in New Zealand.
